If your site has the Image Gallery module configured, you can upload and assign images to Image Galleries. Before proceeding with this tutorial, make sure you have read the "How to create an Image Gallery" tutorial.
If you've already configured one or many image galleries, follow the below steps to add images to those galleries.
- Go to Administer -> Content Management -> Create Content -> Image
- Give the image a unique "Title"
- Assign the image to the "SiteSection" of the site that the gallery will live.
- For "Image Galleries", select the gallery this image will be assigned to.
- In most cases, you can disregard the "Menu settings" for invidiual images.
- For the "Image" field, browse to the image on your local computer that you would like to add. A couple of things to note:
- There is a restriction on file size of the image to upload, usually about 2 MB.
- When the image is created, the image will be resized to fit inside the content area, and thumbnails will be created for that image as well.
- Optionally provide some "Body" text for the image. In some cases, this will appear with the image as it's description / caption.
- You can ignore the sections: "Input format", "Revision information", "File attachments", "URL path settings", and "Authoring information". Only special cases will an individual image require modifying those settings.
- For "Publishing options", you can either leave the image as published, or uncheck that value to remove the image from the gallery without actually deleteing it.
- Once you click "Save", the image should get uploaded, resized, it's thumbnails generated and automatically appear in the image gallery.
